As we welcome the month of March, Rotary E-Club of One Vision is proud to join the global community in celebrating Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Month. This observance is a timely reminder of the critical role that access to clean water, sanitation facilities, and good hygiene practices play in promoting public health, reducing poverty, and advancing economic development.

The State of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene GloballyDespite progress made in recent years, the world still faces significant challenges in ensuring universal access to WASH services. According to the World Health Organization (WHO),:- 844 million people lack access to clean water worldwide- 2.3 billion people lack access to basic sanitation facilities- 892 million people practice open defecation

These staggering statistics have severe consequences, particularly for vulnerable populations such as children, women, and marginalized communities. Inadequate Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene services lead to the spread of diseases like cholera, diarrhea, and typhoid fever, which claim hundreds of thousands of lives annually.

Rotary’s Commitment to Water, Sanitation, and HygieneAs a global network of community leaders, Rotary International has long recognized the importance of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in promoting health, dignity, and economic development. Through our global grants program, Rotary members have supported countless Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene projects worldwide, from constructing latrines and promoting hygiene education to providing clean water sources and advocating for policy change.

E-Club of One Vision’s Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene InitiativesAs a vibrant and dedicated community of Rotarians, E-Club of One Vision is committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of others through Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene initiatives. Our members have been actively engaged in various projects, including:- Supporting local organizations that provide Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene services to marginalized communities- Promoting hygiene education and awareness-raising campaigns- Advocating for policy change to support universal access to Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene services
